The other day when I was our walking I was thinking about penmanship and how lovely it is to see someone's handwriting. You can tell a lot about a person by their writing: cursive vs. printing, pen vs. pencil, sloppy vs. neat. So that night I was amazed when I opened a new book (biography of Beatrix Potter) and the end sheet was a page of her journal.
I felt so inspired after seeing that page. Of course I am someone with a love for stationery and paper so perhaps seeing penmanship means more to me than some, but know that when you write in your baby memory book you are not only telling a story to your child you are giving them a sample of your writing.
My mother writes in the most beautiful cursive writing, my dad prints with a black ball point pen (the old fashion kind that goes in a pocket protector) and I have scraps of things they have given me over the years saved in part so I can be reminded of how they write. SO when you are writing in your baby book, even if you spell something wrong, or cross something out, know that it is fine. It is YOUR writing, it is unique to you and will be cherished by your baby (when they grow up).
