Echo Art Bindery has donated over 150 books to the Community Giving Tree, a local non-profit that provides low income families with basic necessities such as clothing, diapers, and baby equipment, reaching 10,000 children a year in northeastern Massachusetts.
The Utah Philips song Bread and Roses was the inspiration for giving (one of the many songs on Deborah’s studio playlist). "We want bread yes, but we want roses too." Deborah hopes that her baby memory books are "a rose" that accompanies the basic necessities that the Community Giving Tree provides.
"...the baby books were a huge hit. The social workers were thrilled and happy to pass them along to the families they are helping."
For Boston, North Shore locals, Community Giving Tree picks up at Winthrop Elementary School in Hamilton the second Saturday of the month between 10 and 12. For a list of what items they need most visit their website at https://www.communitygivingtree.org/donate/
